Materials Needed:
- Wooden boards (¼” thick)
- Nails or screws
- Hammer or drill
- Saw
- Ruler & pencil
- Paint or varnish
- Hole saw (for the entrance)
Steps:
- Cut the Wood Pieces
Cut out six pieces of wood for the birdhouse: one base, two side panels, one front with a circular hole (about 1.5” diameter), one back, and one slanted roof piece. - Assemble the Birdhouse
Attach the sides to the base, then add the front and back pieces. Nail or screw the roof on top, leaving a slight overhang to keep the birdhouse dry. - Add the Entrance Hole
Use a hole saw or large drill bit to cut a circular entrance in the front panel. - Finish the Birdhouse
Sand any rough edges, then paint or stain the birdhouse in bright colors. Add a clear coat of varnish for weatherproofing. - Mount in the Garden
Attach the birdhouse to a tree or post in your garden and watch as birds find their new home!
